EMT/Paramedic Job Description

POSITION DUTIES: Provide Emergency Medical Care and operate ambulance vehicles safely and effectively for 9-1-1 emergency response and inter-facility transports. Performs a variety of administrative and readiness tasks while not responding to emergencies. Shifts are up to 48 hours in length.  Shifts include nights, weekends and holidays. All personnel are also required to attend mandatory training sessions and meetings. Must work a minimum of 250 hours per calendar year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EMT - Current Colorado EMT-Basic, NREMT-Basic certification, current CPR certification at the Professional Provider, valid Colorado Drivers License with acceptable driving record, acceptable criminal history background check and Colorado IV therapy endorsement is preferred. Additional for Paramedic - Colorado Paramedic certification, NREMT-Paramedic and ACLS.  

POSITION PREFERS: 2 years experience as a EMT-Basic/Paramedic with an ambulance transport agency or clinical facility. Other certifications: Basic Trauma Life Support, Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support, Advanced Medical Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, ICS-100, NIMS-700, Hazardous Materials Operations. Residency within Grand County is encouraged
